La Casa Serena, El Comitan, A Bird Watcher's Dream in La Paz $400,000

Are you looking for space, privacy, beauty and quaint Mexican touches  all rolled into one home?  Then come home to La Casa Serena.

Casa Serena is a family home  designed to accommodate two working parents and their teenage sons.
The main floor is an open floor plan, that still provides areas to work and study and place to watch TV. The home office is spacious, and has room for three computers. A built in desk, shelves and storage make an efficient and friendly  space for work and homework.

Tucked under the stairs is a cozy nook that holds a flat screen TV, sound system and  a couch for cuddling up.
Downstairs is the main home with two bedrooms and 2 baths, living-dining room combination, a gorgeous kitchen and views to the gardens. The master suite is huge with a  nicely appointed bathroom including a jacuzzi tub.
On your left as you enter your new home are lighted niches for sculpture or art.
Upstairs is a bedroom and bath, we call it the teenager's hideaway. At the top of the stairs  is a door  leading out to a rooftop deck.

The view of the bay and city lights will delight you from a cot or a hammock.

The owners are ornithologists and have identifird 60 species of birds that nest in El Comitan.  They have a bird-bath, and we have a video of morning  at the birdbath.
This home is perfect as a full-time retirement home, but can be a long-term or vacation rental. The nearby government research agency has people that are always in need of housing.
Make sure you notice the  fine wood details and hand-hewn doors.
